| My inspiration for creating artwork comes from an unquenchable need of self-expression. For me, the process of painting is therapeutic and calming similar to how I feel when I am playing music. I like that paint is tactile and has its own texture and life. Like playing an instrument, the brush is a tool to create art that can inspire others. In my work, I seek to represent an alternative lifestyle that celebrates individuality and breaks conformity. As a part of post-modernism, my work draws influence from appropriation art by applying a classical style of painting to contemporary topics. I hope that through my artwork society will find diversity and enlightenment. |
